The golden opportunity of fear! How I am seeing two different ways we are dealing with fear recently

Everything we experience as fear can be viewed in 2 ways:

  1. As a personal attack on us, on our body, on others

Or

  1. As an opportunity for growth, understanding and freedom.

I grew up in a family where the dynamics were confusing and shifting and for children this can be very frightening. Our whole survival is based on our parents looking after us in a stable environment, and when that is threatened, challenged or removed, we can be thrown into a lifelong journey of feeling frightened that our world is not safe.

Many of us then go on to encounter ongoing experiences that trigger the fear over and over, until our rose-coloured spectacles fall away, and we exchange them for lenses that see the world through a ‘lens darkly’.

Learning to trust is then our mission and over the last year I have watched this opportunity, through fear on a global level, divide people into two groups.

The first group have fallen into full on fear and terror, maybe old wounds have been surfacing in thoughts and feelings around personal survival or losing loved ones and experiencing all the suffering that can bring.

The second group have been seeking the opportunity for freedom and growth, despite the pain, stress or fear they may be feeling or witnessing. I have been watching these people turning this community experience into profound change in several ways.

  1. People are becoming kinder to each other, taking time to talk and express how they are feeling.
  2. Through isolation they are diving deeply within and finding beautiful resources that they never knew were there.
  3. Losing the fear of being alone and questioning what being alone really means. When other humans are gone, what is left?
  4. Exploring a faith by either fanning the embers of a faith long abandoned through being busy, or beginning to find a new faith and asking the 2 big questions that I think take us from being controlled by others to becoming free in our thinking.

Why am I here? What’s it all about?

Once we ask these 2 big questions, we no longer need to seek others to tell us what to do and how to live. We question authority and other people’s opinion about how we should be living and what we should be thinking or feeling. This is when our freedom starts to evolve. When we shift out of the collective consciousness of fear and start to make choices based on freedom and love. As we connect to these big two questions, we start to expand into the Universal Family of knowledge which has its roots planted in eternity. We come to know that eternity sits within each one of us and that we are all in this experience together forever! As we transcend the terror of losing the physical body, we find the fear of our own or others death and destruction, replaced by a deep understanding of faith in a Universe that adores us, we side step all the stories of panic being thrown around us, and focus on the only thing that evokes profound change – our connection to eternal love and learning to be steady in that beam of light that is focused on us 24/7 if we choose to find it.

If you would like to use any of our aromatherapy products to help with fear you are experiencing, I highly recommend our Strength & Grounding collection, this works our Base Chakra and is the root of where we feel unsafe. This collection is infused with Ruby crystal energy and is a very protective stone.

Growing up in Hong Kong in the 1960’s I was surrounded by sensory overload on every level. The colour, the heat, the noise but most importantly the smells! There was the wonderful aroma of cooking on every street corner and the brutal smell of extreme poverty, all mingled into one big pot of human aroma that had a very distinctive smell. If I close my eyes I can still smell and taste that unique odour that only Asia has.
