I am currently in the middle of doing the ice man challenge in my own way. When I first saw Wim Hoff on telly, I thought “who is this crazy man, getting people to jump in iced water?” Now I am a devotee! After spending 40 years being dismissed as a ‘nutter’ he is finally being recognised for the inspired leader that he is. As he says, he is a man who dropped out of school, and he is now teaching top scientists how the human body and mind works. I am doing his 10 minute breath work daily, its free on Youtube (so no excuses) along with a freezing cold shower. I have yet to dip my toe in the iced water, but I know that is coming…
We also have freezing winter seas near me, so I think I might be dipping more than a toe in that also. I have only been doing it for a short while but can feel the immediate benefits. My mood lifts, and my thoughts are brighter and clearer. I feel physically good also, and strong. I can’t recommend him enough for helping to stabilise the brain stem and calm down the fight or flight impulse that causes so much mental health problems. I am recommending it to all my clients, so cold showers all round. With fuel increases we might all be having cold showers anyway soon, but I bet one side effect will be the increase in the health of the nation. Try it, it’s free and once you get into it is not that difficult to do.
