How do you know I only use the best aromatherapy?

Sourcing my products has always been really important to me and I am adamant that I will always pick the most eco-friendly, safe and pure products I can find. There are so many dodgy importers out there, and a few of our stockists have wanted to know more about how I know the quality of our oils are top notch. First thing you need to know about me is that I don’t compromise on quality for price and never will – EVER! I also have workd with a wonderful co-operative oil specialist for the last 8 years, who has been buying oils for over 30 years, and all the fabulous aromatherapy oils I buy, can be traced back to the farms that produce them. Every barrel of oil is then tested by an independent chemist to make sure the quality is unadulterated and is the highest quality.  I think one of the reasons that there is so much adulterated oil on the market is because the price of aromatherapy oils have skyrocketed over the last couple of years. An example is vanilla oil which 2 years ago cost wholesale £800 per litre, overnight it went up to £12,000 so you imagine the costs involved with producing aromatherapy on a large scale. I have many a sleepless night wondering when the prices will stop going up!
Sometimes people bring into the shop oils for me to smell, that they think are aromatherapy.  Even after all the checks and certificates have been completed on my own oils, I still do the ‘sniff test’ as I have a highly tuned nose to aromatherapy. Mostly the cheap products people bring me to check for them are chemically identical but tend to give me an instant headache. They lack the finesse that only pure oils can give, the subtlety is something that transports us into relaxation and happiness. Chemical imitations just can’t do that and I wouldn’t for a second put them on my body. Yes aromatherapy oils are expensive, but think of them as fine wine or pure chocolates: less is definitely more!
Many people have never actually smelt real rose oil, because it is really expensive, but once you do, nothing else will do. I am in the shop in Petersfield on Thursdays and Saturdays 10-5pm so do come and visit and do the ‘sniff test’ with me.

With love

When I started Zephorium in 2012 my main aim was to create a community of like minds, a place of peace, reflection support and to make new friends. With the business of sales, buying, making up bottles and accounts I think I have let that slip. So my New Year resolution, now that the business is more self-sustaining, is to create that community that I long for.
